Friday Lunches & Weekend Breakfasts

During our warm-weather season (May – October), St. John’s Ministries offers bagged breakfasts for men in our Safe Sleep shelter program, and bagged lunches for visitors at the Micah Center… all made possible by community volunteers who want to make a simple, yet meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

This is your change to get creative! If you have children who can help make and decorate the bags, even better!

Friday Bagged Lunches

Each Friday, May through October, guests and visitors experiencing homelessness or housing instability, leave the Micah Center with a bagged lunch.

Lunches may be dropped off throughout the week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) if they contain non-perishable items. If lunches contain perishable or refrigerated items, please drop-off at 11am on Friday (preferred).

Bagged lunches can be dropped off at the Micah Center at 612 Stuart Street.

Other Ways to Volunteer

Giving your time as a volunteer is one of the most meaningful things you can do to support St. John’s and those in the Green Bay community who are experiencing homelessness or at-risk of being homeless.

Whether you want to commit weekly, biweekly, monthly, quarterly, or schedule as needed, we welcome your gifts and talents. The volunteer coordinator will work with you to create the most meaningful experience to fit your schedule. No minimum commitment is required.

DuringSt. John’s Ministries operates two emergency shelters during our cold weather season (November – April) and a stability shelter for women during our warm weather season (May – October).

Meal Teams are essential for both providing and serving a warm, nutritious meal each evening throughout our shelter seasons. Meals are prepared off-site and brought to the shelters, where the team will serve them. The support and care provided with each meal helps us uphold our mission to honor the dignity of every guest we serve.

Service groups are essential to the operations of St. John’s Ministries. Whether it’s a group of 5 or 15-20, projects can be assigned to help forward the mission of St. John’s Ministries.

Service groups begin with a tour of the facility and background information on our mission and operations. The staff believes strongly that an understanding of the guests we serve and the programs we provide is just as helpful as the project your group will complete at the facility. This allows you to become a voice for our guests out in the community.

Individuals, religious groups and other organizations are invited to join our Empty to Full (E2F) Meal Program and provide nutritious meals to those experiencing homelessness or housing instability in our community.

Through your culinary support, you will be helping St. John’s Ministries meet the challenge of providing breakfasts and dinners to guests utilizing shelters. Each meal serves between 40-100 people, so you’ll be making a much-needed, satisfying difference in the lives of hungry and homeless individuals.
