Case Manager — Carissa Souvannasaeng

I am passionate about the people St. Johns serves through its ministry. My faith is very important to me and I feel I have been called to do the work that I do, serving the population that I serve through St. Johns.

I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Eau Claire – Wisconsin. I am also a Licensed Social Worker. I have past case management experience with The Salvation Army and Care Wisconsin.

In my position as case manager I meet with guests to identify barriers that they may be experiencing in life and collaborate with guests on how they can overcome their barriers. I try to remain very person-centered and have the guests tell me how I can be a help to them. My work matters because sometimes the people we serve just need someone to show them respect, compassion and to offer some guidance in their lives to lift up their feeling of worthiness and purpose, I can be that person for them!

When I’m not at work, I like to enjoy nature’s beauty by taking walks. I love to read and enjoy reading challenges to see how many books I can read in a year! I also love to travel and enjoy the sights, food and memories involved in traveling. I am really close with my family so I will often be spending time with them, going to Church, watching sports, having family gatherings or having a girls day with my mom and sister, we do a lot of that! You can also find me indulging in happy hour with my best friends!
