Joseph Project
Connecting People with Opportunity
The Joseph Project is a faith-based employment initiative connecting people with meaningful job opportunities and helping them build the skills and confidence needed to succeed in the workplace.
Participants take part in a free, four-day job preparation workshop led by staff, community volunteers, and workplace professionals. The workshop covers practical skills such as teamwork, time management, goal setting, financial management, interview preparation, conflict resolution, and spiritual fitness.
Participants who complete the workshop are given the opportunity to interview with local employers who are looking to hire. Through this connection of job seekers and employers, the Joseph Project removes barriers to employment and creates opportunities for people who are ready to make positive change in their lives.
The initiative was created in response to challenges seen throughout Wisconsin: employers were struggling to find workers and underserved communities were struggling to find meaningful employment.
Today, Joseph Project volunteers, community partners, and employers work together to identify individuals who are ready for a fresh start and equip them with the tools and opportunities they need to move forward.
Transportation
Every participant is offered transportation to and from work via the Joseph Project shuttle. The volunteer drivers work to make sure all shifts are covered. Employees in good standing with their employer after the first 90 days receive the value of one-month’s free transportation.
