Controller – Tressa Dorn

I have been very fortunate to find the career that I love!  I have been in Accounting since I graduated and have been able to explore many opportunities in the accounting field. 

I started out in small businesses and realized that I needed more of a challenge and worked for a Public Accounting firm doing books for various businesses and worked on getting certified to prepare tax returns.  I then moved into bigger corporations and while doing accounting, I was also learning how to troubleshoot technology and software issues, and realized I had a passion for this.  I have done software upgrades, software conversions and various other things to help the company I work for “work smarter, not harder.”

I was very fortunate to be in a place in my life where I felt a calling to work for a company that serves our community.  St. John’s had a Controller position open and I jumped at the opportunity because I felt it was time for me to make more of an impact in our community.  I feel privileged to work with the homeless population along with our committed team members.

When I am not at work, I am at my children’s sporting events, kayaking, reading, or volunteering for my church.
