“What’s for lunch today?”

Office Manager Vicki (left) with Carol (right) who is part of the St. Louis Parish Women’s Book Club who make lunch for Micah Center guests.

At the Micah Center we rely on the kindness of many people in order to provide lunch for our guests. There are organizations that bring us items like sandwiches, wings, breads, and sweet treats. There are ladies who make chili, soup, egg salad, and other complete meals that they drop off or serve. There are local eateries that offer us left-overs, and occasionally, treats made especially for us. And then there are individuals who call to see if we want items that remain after they have had a family or work event …box lunches, partial pans of pulled pork, cole slaw, cheese trays, etc. For these blessings, we are very grateful.

Believe it or not, all this generosity still leaves gaps in eating that we need to fill. We are always looking for:

-Kitchen magicians who like to cook for a crowd (25 people)

-Savvy shoppers who buy and donate items like lunchmeat, chips, bananas, etc.

-All folks who have innovative ideas about how to help us answer the question, “What’s for lunch today?”

Contact Vicki, Office Manager at the Micah Center (920-617-8700), if you want to talk turkey …or make any other edible arrangement.
