Wellspring returns

By Wellspring Community Resource Specialist Patty Johnson

Wellspring has returned to our home on Dousman Street! Our programming was provided at the St. John’s Women’s Shelter site from November-April, while 24-hour a day services were offered. Our return to Dousman Street brought together old friends, treasured volunteers who are venturing out once again and new staff faces. Courtney, our Office Manager and Tameika, a Case Manager, have moved from serving guests at the Micah Center to join Case Manager Carissa and Community Services Specialist, Patty at Wellspring, enriching our long tradition of empowering women to reach their full potential.

Wellspring offers a safe, compassionate atmosphere for women who are homeless, living with mental illness, disabled, facing financial issues or in broken relationships. We provide programs to elevate the mind, body and spirit which include mentoring, community resources and referrals, job readiness and searches, receiving mail and more.  Women for Sobriety, a guided support group for women recovering from Substance Abuse Disorders takes place every Wednesday at 1:45pm.

Guests can drop in at 413 Dousman Street Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 7:00am to 3:00pm.
