St. John’s works to create lasting change in all of our guests through positive connections, growth opportunities, and forward-moving programs. One of our new forward-moving programs will help to not only bring change in our guests through serving, but lasting change in our community as well. St John’s is partnering with Downtown Green Bay to serve through their Adopt-A-Block program. This program strives to create a more beautiful and welcoming downtown with clean streets, tidy sidewalks and maintained green spaces. St. John’s has adopted the blocks encompassing St John’s shelter and park. Starting Wednesday, May 19th, St John’s guests will be going out to clean our blocks making sure they are free of garbage and maintained to create a positive, welcoming space.
This new partnership and program will help create positive change in many different ways. First, Adopt-A-Block will create a positive change in our environment through ridding debris and beautifying our community. Secondly, Adopt-A-Block will help foster a culture of community engagement in our guests who are serving by allowing them to take pride in the blocks they are upkeeping. Lastly, Adopt-A-Block will assist in empowering our guests to build connections within the areas they are residing, as well as give back to the community.
Positive change starts with us one block at a time.
