A big thank you goes out to troop leader, Amy LaSala and her 5th grade Girl Scout Troop #4037 for earning their Bronze Award with their “take action” project they completed at St. John’s Homeless Shelter. The troop’s task was to identify an issue in their community and help solve a problem. “The girls would like to decorate a room at the shelter, making it more homey and welcoming for the people who stay at the shelter. They thought painting it a bright color, hanging curtains and pictures, and adding other touches would make them feel happier,” says troop leader, Amy. And happier it did make them! The troop redecorated the women’s sobriety/stability/employment room at the shelter. The ladies of the shelter were overjoyed to see the final results of the project. A fresher wall color (donated by CertaPro Painters), brighter curtains, beautiful pictures, a better television and a new carpet. Thank you Troop 4037 for your generosity!!!
