St. John's Ministries receives "Give With Confidence" 100 rating from well-respected Charity Navigator organization.

GREEN BAY, Wis. — St. John’s Ministries is proud to announce that its strong financial health and ongoing accountability and transparency have earned a 100/100 rating from Charity Navigator’s Encompass Rating System. This score designates St. John’s Ministries as an official “Give with Confidence” charity, indicating that our organization is using its donations effectively based on Charity Navigator’s criteria.

Charity Navigator is America’s largest and most-utilized independent charity evaluator. Since 2001, the organization has been an unbiased and trusted source of information for more than 9 million users annually.

The Encompass Rating System is a comprehensive evaluation tool that analyzes nonprofit performance based on four key indicators, referred to as beacons. Currently, nonprofits can earn scores for the Finance & Accountability, Impact & Results, Culture & Community, and Leadership & Adaptability beacons.

The Encompass Rating System enables Charity Navigator to increase the number of nonprofits it evaluates, growing from 9,000 to nearly 200,000 nonprofits evaluated. In order to be more inclusive of smaller and more recently established nonprofits, the system uses a combination of automated methods and technology-supported manual research and analysis to provide donors and nonprofits with four clearly-visualized indicators of organizational effectiveness.

“We are delighted to provide St. John’s Ministries with third-party accreditation that validates their operational excellence,” said Michael Thatcher, president and CEO of Charity Navigator. “We are eager to see the good work that St. John’s Ministries is able to accomplish in the years ahead.”

“Our Charity Navigator rating of 100 out of 100 through their Encompass Rating System is further validation that our supporters can trust our commitment to good governance and making the world a better place,” said Dr. Alexia Wood, executive director of St. John’s Ministries. “We hope that it will introduce our work to new supporters who can help us advance our mission to honor the dignity, restore hope and create lasting change for those experiencing homelessness or housing instability in the Green Bay community.”

St. John’s Ministries recently expanded its services to meet the needs of women in the community. It remodeled a building that will serve as Wellspring, a women’s only daytime resource center, and a 55-bed Women’s Shelter. On July 6, Wellspring opened its doors to the community and features three times the square footage for programming, support groups and community.

About St. John’s Ministries:

St. John’s Ministries’ mission is to honor the dignity, restore hope and create lasting change for those experiencing homelessness or housing instability in the Green Bay community. At St. John’s Ministries, we believe that each person is unique, with the same inherent worth as the day they were born. We meet each of our guests right where they’re at and walk alongside them on their journey. Our vision is that through a spirit of familiarity, rapport and trust, each person will leave better than they came. Services are provided across four locations. At our two seasonal emergency shelters of last resort, we provide adults experiencing homelessness with a safe place to sleep during the harsh winter months. At the Micah Center and Wellspring, our two daytime resource centers, we equip adults experiencing homelessness – as well as community members at-risk – with the tools to achieve self-sufficiency. StJohnsGreenBay.org.
