Vacations, handmade bench, other items available for bidding
The 9th annual Restoring Hope Gala is days away on Saturday, November 4th. The anticipation is at an all-time high for St. John’s Ministries’ signature fundraising event.
One area the St. John’s Ministries Gala committee worked hard at was having robust live and silent auction offerings. This year’s menu of live auction items features three destination trips (Canadian fishing, 7-night Mexico, and Minocqua 1-week private cabin), a handmade bench with planters made by guests and a donor, professional cooking by Chef Champion, and St. John’s Holy Smokes BBQ smoker trailer.
The silent auction has many outstanding items donated by local community businesses and supporters. Some of the highlights include Packers memorabilia, golf packages, rare bourbon, jewelry, and much more.
“The committee spent a lot of time planning, contacting community partners, and securing items to make the Restoring Hope Gala an amazing event,” said Steve Schauer, director of community engagement. “We take a lot of pride in having a diverse set of items available for attendees in the building and those at home who want to bid.”
You do not need to be in attendance to bid on silent auction items or buy a raffle ticket for the Ariens snow blower.
Below is a list of live auction items that will be up for bidding at the Restoring Hope Gala on November 4th.

Live auction trips available the night of the Restoring Hope Gala are:
- Canadian fishing trip for 4 people for 4 nights at Manitou Weather Station. Boats are included in this package as you fish for world-class muskie, pike, trout, walleye, and bass.
- Minocqua private cabin vacation for a week at Little Bearskin Lake. This package includes a pontoon boat for cruises and the cabin can sleep up to 10 people.
- Mexico 4-Diamond resort stay at your choice of Nuevo Vallarta, Cancun-Riviera Maya, or Acapulco. This package is for 4 people and includes luxurious accommodations, endless pools and world-class restaurants.

Wouldn’t you love to sit and smell the roses with this new bench and attached planter boxes? This hand-crafted piece of outdoor furniture was skillfully created by Craig and Hawkeye (guests at St. John’s Ministries) and Myron (a dedicated supporter).
In late August, Craig and Hawkeye, along with two staff members, drove to Myron’s home in Door County to build the bench and planter boxes. Many memories were made throughout the day before the finished product was completed.

Enjoy a professionally cooked meal in your home by award-winning Chef Ace Champion or tasty BBQ from St. John’s Holy Smokes. These food experiences will be available for live auction on November 4 at the Restoring Hope Gala.
