Our mission is to honor the dignity, restore hope and create lasting change for those experiencing homelessness or housing instability in the greater Green Bay community.
At St. John’s Ministries, we believe that each person is unique, with the same inherent worth as the day they were born. We meet each of our guests right where they’re at and walk alongside them on their journey. Our vision is that through a spirit of familiarity, rapport and trust, each person will leave better than they came.
Our services are robust and include two seasonal emergency shelters of last resort, where we provide adults experiencing homelessness with a safe place to sleep during the harsh winter months. We also offer two daytime resource centers, the Micah Center and Wellspring, where we equip adults experiencing homelessness – as well as community members at-risk – with the tools to achieve self-sufficiency.

STORIES OF HOPE: Tonya and Mary
Tonya and Mary first arrived at St. John’s Ministries, experiencing homelessness for the first time. They
immediately became friends trying to help each other during this difficult chapter in their lives. With gentle
hearts, witty humor, and stubbornness—Tonya and Mary continue to overcome health challenges and the lack
of affordable housing. “People see the homeless on the street like they are nothing. They get bad looks and it
breaks my heart. There are so many elderly people with nowhere to go,” Mary said.
Our Services
Shelter
A place to sleep and a warm meal is available for those that qualify at one of our two seasonal emergency shelters of last resort. We only serve adults that aren’t eligible anywhere else and who would otherwise be sleeping on the streets. Our shelters operate from November 1 – April 30.
Resources
Supporting a person in their journey to self-sufficiency is the goal of our year-round daytime resource centers (Micah Center and Wellspring). Individuals have access to support groups and workshops, designed to eliminate barriers and ensure they have the tools necessary to move towards their self-sufficiency goals.
Case Management
Each guest of St. John’s Ministries is assigned a case manager to assist with barriers faced and to toward goals that will eventually lead to self-sufficiency. Case Managers provide guidance, resources and referrals to programs that will lead to employment and potentially housing.
